SLYFC Registration and Expansion of Divisions

Silver Lake Football Looks To Expand Football Program (More Age Appropriate Teams) For the 2010 season Silver Lake Football is trying to expand the youth program with additional age appropriate teams. Currently the SLYF program consist of 4 playing levels, Mighty Mites, Mites, Pee-wees, and Midgets. If the right number of applicants registers, the 9yr olds (Mites), 11yr olds (Peewees), and 13/14yr olds (Midgets) will continue to play an OCYFL division 2 schedule. This will include teams from Taunton, Hanover, Dennis Yarmouth, Duxbury and Middleboro. We are looking to have the, 8yr olds (Mites), 10yr olds (peewees), and 12yr olds (Midgets) play in a division 5 schedule. This will include towns from Hanover, Hingham, Taunton, Duxbury, Bridgewater, Marshfield and Scituate. These additional teams will create a competitive (Varsity) and non competitive (Jr. Varsity) schedule for every age appropriate team with in our program . The 7yr olds (Mighty Mites) will remain a non-competitive instructional level. SLYF is hoping by separating teams by single age brackets, made of Varsity & Jr. Varsity players for each age group bracket listed below, will create more playing time for the kids each weekend. This is all dependent on the number of per age level applicants we receive; if we do not get the right number of applicants we will be unable to create additional teams. We look forward to meeting this challenge and continuing in the tradition of Silver Lake’s strong football programs.
